1. Lol, dude, you don't hit "My soldier"...you select the class button under the type of solider you wanna play.
2. I'd like to argue with the hit detection. I can't. This isn't BF3, it's not COD..it's something different. You CANNOT run and gun. CANNOT. Hip fire is shit. Drippy, sloppy shit.
3. There are campers. Douchers. Goofs with sniper rifles. Depends on the game type and lobby. Deathmatch is probably the worst for it. People who don't PTFO are in every game.
4. The menu systems and the party and lobby systems are AWFUL. They are for console tards...not PC purists. The game, when it lets you set up a party, will often switch your buddy to the other team for no reason.
There is also no way I can find for moving between teams or fireteams WHILE in game. This is awful. It also doesn't seem to interface properly with Battlelog.
5. The objective/out of bounds thing is awful. Really really awful. When an objective is blown up in Combat Mission, the out of bounds area often moves trapping people in the OOB area...getting them killed.
6. The HUD. Too big. Too busy. Needs to be scaled down.
7. The level designs often lead to funneling. Of course this can promote camping. See #3.
I can say a few good things about this game:
1. When you can get it to work properly, in coms with TBG members...the fire team system KICKS ASS. It's very rewarding and forces you to maintain awareness of your team mate. You want heals or ammo? You better know where the fuck your FTB is. Combinations of the different classes can be beautiful to watch. donout playing Snuggy Bear (Demo), lowering his faceshield (for the extra armor) and lumbering into an assaulter who is emptying his rifle into him...while I run up behind him and Tomohawk him....priceless. Spec Ops + Assaulter or Demo is great for finding and killing camping shitbirds.
2. If the maps were more geared to the PC's capabilities, the game modes would be more fulfilling. Sector Control, Combat Mission and especially Hot Spot/Home Run mode can be pretty tense, and pretty competitive.
3. I like the gun play. It's made me a better player in BF3. It's about bursting. But the guns are beautiful to look at and I love the sounds in the game. It just feels more satisfying when you (finally) kill someone.
4. Tomohawking camping sniper fucks. It really really REALLY doesn't get any better than this.
5. The killstreaks aren't all geared to KDR. Many of them are for intel, or concealment or replentishing specials.
6. You get TWO grenades. You get TWO 320s as an Assaulter. ETC. They DO NOT GET REFILLED. You need to go through the streaks on certain classes to gain the Refill option. There is no "Metro nadefests" happening here. Gotta be careful with those assets, you never know when you'll need them.
7. I enjoy the gun customizing. Of course, the actual metrics of what the customizations do are presented to you in a bar graph. I'd like to see numbers used, and ones that are relative across all classes.
8. The classes over differences in Speed, Firepower, Armor and of course specials. They all have different playstyles.
Would I purchase this game right now, if I didn't know you guys or donut...and had to play with randoms? Absolutely not. Not in this state. It needs to be patched, and it needs it badly. When I need a break from BF3, and there's a few TBG on that own it...and we can get the fireteam to work in game....it's often enjoyable. Just don't come into it expecting BF3 or COD.
Also...I subscribed to that dude's YouTube channel. All his vids are funny.
