so as most of you know i FINALLY got a new PC, able to run most games that i like. Welp now there is Squad and im back a few notches now. Talking with some people (Soulzz) and my CPU is shit. well im not very good when it comes to this. i dont know whats good/bad. Right now my CPU is a AMD TF-4300, and im told that Intel would be better, so which one would i need to consider it a "upgrade" but still be compatible with the rest of my shit. I have no idea what the rest of my PC is except the Graphics card (Nvidia GTX-650) If you know a way for me to show you what else is in this tin can let me know a way and i will. Really enjoying squad right now and although 20 FPS isnt bad, i can deal with it (for now) i would like to have 60FPS or more. Nothing pisses me off more when im shooting at someone and my screen freezes and next thing i know there behind me. so if anyone has any suggestions of a Intel CPU that will work with me PC and this game, Please let me know. Or if anyone has one for sale, i would def be interested.

Thanks!
Matt

get at least an i5, i7 preferably on Haswell, or even Skylake.

Thank you Bungie, well this is what im working with

enough to get squad working fine ive had this pc for about 3 months now and wasent planning on upgrading for a long time, but i dont really have a choice at this point

$150-$200 around there. but ill also have to pay to get it installed. cause idk what im doing

You would be more like 300-350 if you went with an I5 and a lower end Motherboard. I would highly recommend you wait. Save a little more and pick up an I7 with a decent board. Don't listen to anyone telling you to go the cheap route, you will not be happy and you'll be upgrading again in a few months. Other members can tell you the headaches they've had going the cheap route. As far as paying someone to do the build, I can walk you through the build. I've done it now with at least 4 TBG members.

i know intel is expensive as shit, would i just be able to upgrade to another AMD?

I wouldn't do that.. going the cheap, I want it now route, is not the correct way. To answer your question, Yes, you can get the 8350. More than likely it will work with your motherboard after a BIOS update, but you will not be satisfied with it. Your money and time, I just can't recommend doing it.

Edit- With that said, you will need to look up your motherboard CPU support list and make sure the 8350 will work.

ok fair enough. im gonna be honest, i dont understand tho, maybe you can see something that i dont. I was playing squad before the holidays, running on medium at 80-90 FPS. Came back from the holidays, didnt change anything, now im running 13-15 FPS on low.... It doesnt make any sense to why this changed so dramatically over time. when i didnt make any changes myself.

I would go no less than a i73770k. They are good enough to run everything out there today. Of course if you can save more and go with something newer like the sky lake processors then that is just gravy. I think a lot of the clan are running 4770ks and 4790ks. I know avery and I are running skylakes.

You can pick up a decent i73770k mobo and cpu for $450-$500

Squad is early access as well. They will change it from time to time. Keep in mind until they have a full release game out, the current version may have periods of time where it isn't optimized well.
