it does feel like cod4 on steroids with mechs. good graphics, fast fun game play.

Fascinating article on the use of Azure Cloud for Titanfall. Going to be interested to see how this expands to other developers and games in the future.

No. All the server stuff is handled by Microsoft in the Azure cloud. Since its 6v6 I don't think rentable servers would be a good model anyway.
I'll try to record some gameplay tomorrow and post it if you like - though I'm sure you could get your fill via twitch.tv right now - many PC streamers who have early access are streaming right now.

Most likely to discourage Pirating and Torrent downloads, especially in countries where broadband speeds arent that good, and second, distribution as you'll need lots of DVD's to store that game as few own a Blu ray drive. And even with 50Gb capacity Disc, its not cost effective.
Edit: Its an inflation process, this game does not have that insane amount of coding. Just like Adobe Multimedia Programs , like Premiere Pro vs Other non Linear video editing software
