Neither Intel nor AMD has anything even approaching compatible. You'll probably have to wait for AMD's AM4 and Intel's Haswell lineups.

I'll wait a year after those come out to even consider get one. Let them work out the bugs out if there is any.
 
It's about time. And yeah, I'll wait a bit too. When DDR3 hit the market the MB manufacturers didn't have their shit together when trying to utilize DDR3. First round of DDR4 MBs I'll gladly take a pass on.
