I currently have TWC paying $149 for 20/2 Internet and standard tv. I'm looking at either switching to u verse or canceling tv so just wondering what people's opinion was on uverse vs twc.

I have Uverse and it's alright. I hate that it connects via the wireless Uverse modem. If you have no connection=no TV. Also, you have a separate Uverse box that connects to the TV and acts as a receiver fro the Uverse modem- it burns out about every year, year and a half-just gets hot and boom no TV, or you'll start missing features like recording or channels you can't get to and then it all goes. So far we've had Uverse for 3 years and have gone through 5 boxes. Maybe it's being in TX or maybe its faulty equipment, but when that happens it's a major pain in the ass.

I don't watch live TV, I record a few shows and skpe the commercials but when you have no uverse box, no recordings and you'll miss all the shows live or recorded.

i dropped cable long ago and got a chrome cast for the non smart TV. i dont watch a lot of tv anyways other than sports but shit you can stream almost anything now. i also have kodi on the pc

We watch premium TV on the internet using my aunts xFinity subscription. She gets TV free through her association so we basically don't pay for anything lol.

nice man i just have friends with subs to everything that hooked me up on they accounts

If it was up to me id drop the tv because I to have streaming subs and other ways to watch shows but I have two other people that want it. Twc said for just my current internet it would be $70.

I would go for u-verse depending on how they deliver the service to your home. FTTP or FTTN is good, but if they only offer pair bonding to give u service go for twc. (former help desk for service tech's + line tech's)

Edit: Also, dont ever accept any offer if they only have standard dsl service in your area. Those still run on legacy telephone lines and are not updated. Making connection slow and possible to random disconnects.

I had uverse for a year while the price promo ran. I'm not sure what they have currently, but when I signed up, I received (2) $250 Visa cards for being a new customer, then another (2) $250 Visa cards for switching from Cable. If I'm not mistaken I got like another $25 or $50 at some point. I got them less than a week after my first bill issued. I had Internet+TV and was paying around $80/month. The wireless HD/DVR boxes are pretty nice, you don't have to worry about any cords besides power. The only shit part was for the DVR's to work, it has to be hard wired into the internet/wireless modem for it to work. My computer isn't located near a TV so I had a DVR box just sitting collecting dust for my 2nd room + living room to have DVR features. It's a very good service, I just jumped back to cable, since they had a buy back program. I'm all about saving $$ and if I just bounce between them every year or two I'm ok with that, lol. Anyways, It's a very nice service as far as Quality/Speed and I would assume cheaper v what you currently have. You won't regret jumping to them if you can.
