I built a new pc and went with m.2 drive for my C drive.

My previous C drive was a Samsung 850 SSD.

However, I have data I need to retrieved from the Samsung, but when I connect the drive it shows as empty.

Any suggestions?

Ruh roh. The post title is misleading. You currently do not have 2 drives mounted as C:\ correct? I mean other than that being impossible. When the machine is off no drive has a letter. Comes under better perspective in Linux where we have to mount the drives basically as a folder lol.

I can't really think of the reason. I would be running file recovery software at this point to see if it picks up shit. If it wasn't mounted during the windows install then you wouldnt have accidently wiped it then. I seriously doubt it was part of a raid array otherwise you would have told us... hmm.
