** EVERYONE WHO DID NOT UPDATE PB BEFORE PLAYING THE BF:BC2 PATCH WILL GET A PB HACK BAN. THERE IS A MASSIVE THREAD ON THE PB FORUMS ABOUT THIS. MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE, ABOUT 5,000, ARE GETTING BANNED INCLUDING MYSELF. **

I downloaded the BFBC2 update and apparently PB did not update. I'm guessing this affects the Steam version? >_>.

Well i was just in game and nothing happened. Maybe it has to do with steeam

wow so far, Evenbalance claims its genuine ban.

check out this thread. Thats sad. I like to know what they are smoking. Could be MSI Afterburner, or any overlay programs apparently.

I call bullshit, genuine in their opinion no doubt, but take a look at how many people got banned (and still are being) for simply applying a patch. They let the work experience kid out again?

That's why we are not removing admins here that are caught with one of these violations right now. I've learned that innocent players tend to "bitch" a lot more on our / game publishers forums when a false positive occurs.

From Fozzer

#50000s - Aimbot
#60000s - Wallhack
#70000s - Multihack
#80000s - Gamehack
#90000s - 'Cheat' Video Drivers
#100000s - Speedhack
#110000s - Autofire
#120000s - Game Hook
#130000s - Attempted PunkBuster Hack

is added automatically to the PBBans MBI.
It should be remembered that EB normally apply a 2 minute kick for the above violations and its the proactive admin or 3rd party anti cheat service that apply the actual ban.
EvenBalance always have the last word when a cheat violation is raised directly by their own software, but as the actual ban is issued by PBBans.com its best practice to include us in the appeal procedure.
The player can do this by clicking the "appeal this ban" tab and following the simple instructions provided.
This will include raising a troubleticket directly with EvenBalance and that should include as much information as possible as to why the player thinks this is a "false positive".
It's always a good idea to list all processes that were running at the time the violation was raised (antivirus / chat programmes etc etc )
The key word with any troubleticket query is patience, EB get a hell of a lot of queries and response time is dependent on how busy they are.
Normal response time is 48 - 72 hours.

If a globalguid ban is issued by evenbalanceto accompany any of the cheat violations listed above it is completely out of our hands,
Evenbalance themselves issue, enforce, maintain, and support everything related to globalguid bans.
PBBans have no input what so ever.

Just to sum things up, we have no choice but to do what we have always done in the past.
We have to rely on evenbalance to confirm if a cheat violation is a valid violation or not, as the case may be.
As long as EB confirm that raised cheat violations are valid we will stick to the tried and trusted procedures we have always used in the past.
Anyone who raises a cheat violation will be set to restricted and anyone who is restricted will not be a part of anything PBBans related.
Some players who claim to have raised a cheat violation and are claiming "false positive" but are not set to restricted, are players who have raised the violation on a server that is not streaming via PBBans.
We can only set players to restricted when we are in receipt of the actual streamed log information that proves the cheat violation actually took place.
There may be a scenario were an SGA has a globalguid ban because of a raised cheat violation of some type, we will not set the forum account of the SGA to restricted or suspend the team account if we have no evidence (streamed log information) that the violation actually took place.

Last but not least, the only way to contest a cheat violation as a "false positive" is to raise a troubleticket with evenbalance.
They are normally pretty quick to declare a false positive when one crops up but untill they make that declaration our hands are tied.
Best of luck to all involved

A typical response. Even balance apparently even closed the ticket. Nice, this will definitely be a nightmare.
Note #2: The supplied GUID has been associated with hacking or interfering with the normal operation of our PunkBuster software and has therefore been compromised resulting in a global ban from PunkBuster enabled game servers. We have no way of knowing who was actually playing with this GUID at the time the violation was triggered. We also have no way to know if the violation was triggered on your specific computer. Our system does not collect personal information and furthermore we have no way to attach a cheat/hack violation to a specific person. This ban will not be lifted as then the person who did trigger the violation would again be able to join PunkBuster Servers using this GUID.

To be clear: we are not saying that you cheated as we have no way to know who triggered the violation. If it is certain that no one playing on your computer ever had a cheat/hack violation triggered by PunkBuster, then your GUID (cdkey and/or game account password) has been stolen by or leaked to someone who has used it on a different computer to trigger the violation. We do not have the means to help you find out who is responsible for compromising your GUID.

thAT'S BULLSHIT, I was banned, I updated my files, they unbanned me. I would submit another ticket, and bitch to high hell on thier forums.

We have received notification from EB that they are re-evaluating the bans, therefore they will be removed from our systems ASAP.

Wednesday 12.01.2010 [11:30AM] We have confirmed that some of the kicks for violation numbers 132110, 132352, and 132322 made during the past few hours were caused by something other than the presence of a cheat. We encourage server admins to give players the benefit of the doubt and not ban players for these violations.

I'm still ashamed of Soulzz. All this time and he's a hack. That just makes me sad inside.

I was going to screenshot it and post it but I thought that would be rubbing salt in the wound. :)

Fuckers!!! Well, it seems I'm no longer banned on PBBans. :). Stress is gone.

dont need to be stressed the whole world knew about this nonsense :) Your safe with us baby

Still, who else would get banned for being AFK? Seriously, Soulzz, that's a new record.
