Users having trouble with the enter key in vBulletin? Stop using IE10 lol

I do not know if vBulletin 4.2.1 fixes this issue or not. But I am suppsoed to install it as soon as i get a chance. It does fix a couple of things in the editor and tells IE10 to render in IE 9 mode.

Not sure if the users who cant line break (enter key) in the WYSIWYG editor are all using IE10 but you can let me know. This is a known issue in IE10. The fix (should fix any browser) is to go here http://www.tbgclan.com/profile.php?do=editoptions and change the editor. Its under Miscellaneous Options > Message Editor Interface and use the standard one.

Ill check back with you guys after the update. But for the most part, change editors, change browsers or deal with it until we switch to Xenforo.

Once again if your using IE 10 not only are you a fucking dumbass (you know its true ), vBulletin is also MUCH older than IE 10 and is not compatible. Change from the WYSIWYG editor to the standard editor if you post from work etc OR for some reason use IE at home

Reminded me about this as it came up again and i had to change someones editor for them.

Xenforo ought to fix this problem since it doesnt use CK Editor much less an out of date ckeditor.

I can't believe the number of people using IE 10 at home on purpose. Its not like your using a windows RT tablet. IE 10 fails at basic things that firefox and chrome added 2 years ago. I have to do a dance and a half to get the TS3 Viewer to work in IE. Microsoft literally ignored the standard for cross site ajax and created something all there own that will never be adopted. All because they figured they could increase security by putting security bugs in the software.

That said obviously millions of people have jobs that are stuck on IE 6 at work and can't even load microsoft owned websites I remember that life. Used a U3 USB stick to run FF at the time. Shame those went down hill but hell corporate security combined with changes in windows probably nulls it anyways.

Quick tip on the editor change. Wasn't 100% sure before but now I am. The button in the upper left corner is a quick switch between editor modes. If the button is blue your in standard and thats good for IE10.

You might want to have the talk with some of your friends. Friends don't let friends use IE sober. Drunk is understandable. Shit doesn't need to work when your drunk.

Whats funny is the people who couldnt get adblock to block youtube ads in chrome. Ive never had a problem. Then again i only switched more recently lol. Main reason i switched is problems with android firefox. Its nice to have everything sync to both.

But as a "web developer" I have to have every major browser installed anyways.
