Man, just fuck this place...

Honestly, the people who are 100% into this "wonderful" religion are fucking insanely scary nazis, and the rest who profess a balance are just hypocrites.

They're OK people and generally well-intentioned, but there is just an insane disconnect between an overly idealistic religious vision/profession and the reality...

That and the alcohol abstinence explains the leading-in-the-nation use of antidepressants too I think...

Whatever, I just hope I can get away from here very soon... and never come back, except to ski.
 
Nazis? That's a little harsh. I mean, they haven't barbecued or gassed anyone have they? They're clearly sexual deviants per most of society's norms, but nazis? So what if they like to pick fruit from the family tree, or plant their seed in their own backyard. As long as they stay isolated, who cares?! 032
 
Well, I have just developed a lot of hatred for some of these people I guess... but there is a lot of commonality between the religious organization and communist / fascist ideas, whether they are explicitly expressed or just a byproduct. Also, the public face of leadership is sometimes different from what they behave like in meetings and some of the things they say in private to the right "inside" people... I've seen some of it from the inside.

It sounds really happy superficially (ergo, everyone calls Utah County "Happy Valley"), but personally after living here for 4 damn long-ass years, I never in my life want to live in this community ever again. Personal preference, perhaps. Who knows, you might like it. Some people do.

I just have developed a really acute gut reaction to some things in this state/religion...

As far as them staying isolated, if they could have it their way, they'd be in your face "setting a good example" any time of the day.

IDK, I'm just really cynical about this. Please ignore it if it offends you...

P.S. There are some positives to the environment, but for me they don't outweigh the negatives. For example, I've liked the low rates of violent crime.
 
Nah, I was just fucking with you! I am not religious and could give a shit less about any organized religion. They are such extremists who put on a religious facade in my opinion, certifiably crazy in a really scary kind of way. I've been to Utah, but can't imagine living there. No thank you.! 028
 
Oh, I forgot to ask; what kind of online porn. I mean, are we talking pedophiles, beastiality, gay porn, etc. Or just porn in general. It'd be interesting to see what types of porn people are looking in each state. That would give you a pretty good idea of what kind of city it is! fucky

I feel for you dude. I am too in the same predicament, except in the polar opposite, I am stuck in a waste land void or moral fiber, back bone or social courtesy, I feel sometimes if I am surrounded by the cast of VH1 series the "tool academy"

there are rare isolated cases, but they are rare, very rare.
