Any suggestions for a video card that will be able to handle BF4 on high settings maybe even ultra and that should be able to handle games for the next year or two? I'm open to both AMD and NVIDIA.

What about doing 2 cheaper ones and SLI them to get the same or better performance?

SLI doesn't really save you money; buying a pair of whatever you need to match card X will set you back more than buying card X outright unless you get really lucky and find a great deal.

Of course you could always buy one card now and upgrade to an SLI setup later. That's what I'm planning to do with my 680 in a year or so.

I have AMD processor so would it work better if i used AMD video card or does that not really matter?

According to AMD themselves it makes no damned difference. They were asked why AMD cards often worked better with Intel. Pretty broad and loaded question though.

Surprised no one mentioned a HD7970... Their price is around $300, seen sum for as low as $279 on Newegg.

Who would mention a 7970 for 300 bucks when you can get a R9 280 for 300 bucks :p R9 280 is a 7970 Ghz edition for 300 bucks while the 7970 Ghz editions are higher in price at the moment.

Yeah, the 7950 is a fantastic choice as well. Especially if you can find a good price. My buddy got one for 189 on tiger direct a month ago and he runs BF4 on High at 150fps and no issues or crashing.

GOD DAMNIT THEY ARE SOLD OUT ALREADY!! I was going to buy one :(

Well hopefully a deal like that will happen again.

Well if your after a 7970 Ghz edition I would still keep your eye pointed in the right direction as the R9 280X is the same card. Which at the moment is 60 bucks more than that deal was but with all the sales coming up might see 20 bucks off that.

Ok, thanks for all the suggestions. And if you would if you see deals let me know please.
