Was involved in a hit and run accident. Think I have enough info to find the owner.

I was driving in the far right lane with traffic stopped in the middle lane. All of a sudden a vehicle appears in my lane coming across a gap in the middle lane. Keep in mind my vehicle does not have ABS. I slammed on the brakes and cut the wheel hard right trying to turn into the same parking lot they were.

Unfortunately still managed to tap their rear quarter. At first they pulled back into my lane like they were going to run. But they pulled to the gas pump and got out forgetting to put the car in park. After she checked the car I asked if she was okay. She said yeah, this is annoying, then got back in the car and left. I got the plate number but not the state or model. Car was a white 4 door, seemed like an import at first glance.

Plate was blue and orange, perhaps South Carolina? KHU 981. So thanks to the internet I did a little searching. Plate comes back to a 2013 Ford Focus 4 Door in South Carolina. Vin number 1FADP3F25DL139199. Im betting when I have someone at a Ford dealer run that through the build sheet database it comes back Arctic White.

The damage is insignificant even though it also kind of qualifies as a total loss lol.

License plate is enough to go off of for the report. Also, it would come back as Oxford White, and not Arctic White.

Thank god you aren't subject to anger issues - you could have just double-tapped her.

South Carolina and female, shit you had a rough day. Its all the damn snow birds that come here to retire and they are all idiots on the road.

You should import a Citroen... a Citroen cactus. It's got anti-parking lot-murder padding on the sides and very, very flexible bumpers that are very hard to even scratch. Crash test rating skyhigh, too.

Maybe she left because she doesn't have car insurance. The police will find her with just the plate. These days we all need to wear video recorders like the police are starting to do.

The police frankly didnt give a shit. You could see the look of a man who didnt want to file paperwork.

but on a unrelated note, sorry to hear that dude :(. Someone hit my Jeep in NOLA and didn't even leave a note. fuck faces

What if you tried reporting it again but with an officer who actually gives a fuck about his job and enforcing the law?

She left the scene of an accident, she needs a fine and to fix your car.

Wish I could have a chance to find the 'person' who did a hit-and-run on my car last week.

Ok, it wasn't a 'person', but a deer. lol. Driving down the road with my bro (he was the one driving at the time), and this deer comes out of nowhere on the drivers side. Does a face plant on the B-Piller and then runs off. Thankfully, no damage or blood (meaning the deer shouldn't have been injured too). Just need to get the car washed next week to clean off the deer spit on the driver's side rear window and all will be good.

And the crazy thing about this is that it happened right beside our local volunteer fire department. So, if we had been hurt or unable to drive away, the fire guys literally just would have had to drive .05 miles or just run over to help out.

Still, if we had been 1-2 seconds later, that deer would have been in the front windshield for sure, or at least damaged the front end pretty good. Thankfully, we both left with a new experience (first deer hit for both me and my brother) and all being 'ok'.

You're lucky you just hit a female. If it were two males that you hit, it could have cost a couple of bucks.

Lol, yes. Very lucky it was just a female. Also that it directly hit the B-Pillar too and not either of the windows first.
