Well I'll be earning some cash soon with a new job and I have my priorities right..first thing to buy is a new pc of some sort.. But I can't get a desktop because I'm unsure of what i will be doing next year and I dont want to find that I'm moving abroad next year and that I have to leave my desktop behind!!

So laptop is the most practical choice really.. I found these two on this website Novatech..the only difference that is obvious to me is 4gb of ram and a 555M card rather than a gtx 560..and of course the £400 or so difference.

Which would you recommend and why??

The nSpire 2760 - Black Edition

The Elite Ultimate 2760

Or any better suggestions?? :D

Thanks

I'm recommending the more expensive one. It has a better graphics card although with less GPU memory. It also has a better optical drive and more connection ports. More memory, although I think 16 Gb is a little overkill. It also has some things you may or may not use like bluetooth, card reader, web cam, etc. Some of that stuff you may never use, so its up to you on those points. The more expensive one also has the Mobile Intel HM65 Express Chipset, which Rain will correct me or not, is better than the other one. Might want to cal them up or email them to see if they can customize it to take some of the things out. You only really need 8 gigs of RAM. Blutetooth is more of novelty to me, but if you have a smart phone and want to connect your laptop to it that is certainly one way to go. There are other ways to do that. I also am not sure what is the absolute best performing laptop video card out right now. If they can customize the unit for you ask if they can build a Gaming centric version with 8 gigs of RAM the best video card you can afford and the best chipset CPU combination. I did try their customize feature, but it looks like you can only customize a few things.

yeah its pretty limited at what you can customise on that model. Cheers man :D

I'll check scan out now Satis

How about a Mac Book Pro or the new Mac book Air, very good computers, I have the Pro, but I want to sell it and get the new Air.

If he wants to game thats not going to work out too well. Seems like his intention.

Obviously the elite has a better video card. Its your call. But the 560M is the standard video card for gaming laptops in the 1500 USD range which after conversion is probably around where that is.

Bot picked up a sager with a 555M and several people here have 560M's. Might talk to them. Meat has the 560M in his.

Yeah I'd need a mac for my music but as Rain said ain't good for games :(

Macs are only good for music production/engineering. I have a mac G4 for sale. PC's are for gaming while MACS are for music production. There's barely any games for MAC. Wanna buy this mac i have?

I have the Asus ROG G74s, No complaints at all. This thing is a beast. I run BC2 in full mode. Paid $1200. Models range from $1000-$1900 Depending on what Memory, HD space or SSD and Monitor GFX size(i.e. 1080 or 900)

Mac books are all around a great computer except games, they can do awesome photo and video/music editing and the adobe suit for them is amazing, I have almost every adobe product on here as well as dreamweaver. No they cant game like a PC but they can play all the ipod/iphone/ipad games better than those three devices and the games are really fun. And they have a appstore just like the android/iphone and itunes.

LOL but no one wants to play the ipad version of BF3. I am still trying to figure out how they lay bad company. How do you aim lol.

There are other games besides BF3 and BC2, we even have arcade games here that people play. I think ipad games are pretty fun and relaxing. And playing them on my MBP is even better cause better hardware.

Yeah looks absolutely sweet, but your model seems to cost me £1700!! :( it says its 3D capable and all that as well so maybe its a newer version with the same name? i dunno..
I don't want a mac now, and if I got a mac that wouldn't even touch the internet it would solely be for music production and nothing else, plus I dont want apple tracing where I go in the world hahah :P

Yeah I do like the idea of Alienware, but they just seem pretty overpriced for what they are, I find that a lot with Dell, maybe its different because Im in the UK and we always get ripped off :(
