OC EVGA 1070

I need some help with OC'ing my 1070 gpu. Here is what i have so far and need some input from you all as i am no expert OC'er.

Heres my system:

Windows 10 x64bit
Intel Core i7-6700k @ 4.00GHz (OC @ 5 was at 4.6 tried 4.8 then 5 and was stable with temps at 24c at idle and 54c at max performance)
Asustek z170-A Congifurator Motherboard
Samsung EVO 2.5" SSD 250gb
EVGA GTX 1070 FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 8gb GDDR5
Corsair H110I 280mm Liguid Cooler


Heres what i have so far using Heaven dx11 Benchmark tool. All running in Ultra 8xAA Direct3D11

FACTORY Setting

Heaven:

• FPS: 93.9
• Score: 2364
• Min FPS: 36.6
• Max FPS: 195.4

GPU:

• GPU Clock: 1987 mhz
• Memory Clock; 4006 mhz
• Voltage: 1050
• GPU Clock Offset: 0 mhz
• Mem Clock Offset: 0 mhz

OC Setting 1

Heaven:

• FPS: 98.6
• Score: 2484
• Min FPS: 35.4
• Max FPS: 207.4

GPU:

• GPU Clock: 2075 mhz
• Memory Clock: 4248 mhz
• Voltage: 1062
• GPU Clock Offset: +100 mhz
• Mem Clock Offset: +240 mhz

OC Setting 2

Heaven:

• FPS: 102.6
• Score: 2585
• Min FPS: 36.9
• Max FPS: 218.0

GPU:

• GPU Clock: 2088 mhz
• Memory Clock: 4608 mhz
• Voltage: 1062
• GPU Clock Offset: +100 mhz
• Mem Clock Offset: +600 mhz

It seems as if i try to go over a GPU clock Offset of +100 mhz the card becomes unstable and i cannot benchmark.

Suggestions, Ideas, Thoughts?

I assume you used evga precision to maximize the power target?

I don't have this card yet but have been shopping around for awhile. I'm a fan of EVGA cards and have used them for quite some time, using a GTX970SSC atm.

From all the reading I've done on the EVGA 1070's, if your 2088 mhz is stable that's a pretty fine number. Here's a gamernexus review of the SC version with OC numbers, not your exact card, but still.

Does it make any difference if u only oc the core clock without touching mem speed?

I am using the precisiong x. I set the the voltage frequency offset at +100 mhz on a basic curve.

Nope. They are completely independent. Typically when testing for max overclock you should work them independently.
