Ok, here's the point, the software dims your screen according to the time of day (during the day you usually cant see a damn on your screen and during the night it's shines like an ark of the covenant.)

What this thing does, is that it makes it brighter in the day, but dimmer in the evening, which in turn saves your eyes and also saves on power costs(a bit, but when you're running a laptop, it's very noticeable - fan)

It is not a virus, it was on BBC World News today and was a complete sensation, just got mine and it feels so much better already, it took a few minutes to get used to, but now it's just great! :)

i guess we'll be seeing you posting on how to get rid of a virus post soon fellas

Sounds like someone got the idea from smartphones autodimming feature.

F.lux is legit. I've been running it for, God, years now! Works on multi-monitor setups as well. It basically changes your color temperatures: thinks get redder overnight. It's to compensate for the sun and help allow computer addicts to sleep.

NTY, I can ajust brightness with another device, its called....A hand!

Didnt Supra post something like this a while ago? Its cool stuff, I dled it before but stopped using it

Had the best night's sleep ever. definitely staying with it :P

Sounds like a PB Ban waiting to happen.

No at all. I mean other than PB banning people for other ridiculous things.

Everything from power management to monitor calibration equipment/profiles effect the same settings. Windows and the drivers for the hardware in a machine allow for changing the color temp, gamma, back light power. These existing methods are how its done.

Its not like its layering an image over the screen to achieve the effect.

Thinking you would get banned for this is like thinking changing color management settings in windows or the graphics cards control panel is going to get you banned. Sure some weird shit has happened but were talking about something thats been done forever, using methods available for over a decade.

I was referring to false positives, not it being an actual hack. I don't know if you remember a few years back when FRAPS triggered a slew of false positives. PB is very finicky in what it allows. When TBG switched to TS3 we asked PB about using TS Overlay and they recommended against it. I'm not saying it would trigger anything and the fact that Bobsama said he's being using it for a while means it probably wouldn't. I'm just paranoid and don't take any chances.

it only changes the colour temp, brightness and contrast with an algorithm that ties them all to the time of day & environment, it does not interfere with the game (BF2 at least)
