<div>I've had my tablet (Asus Transformer Infinity) a week or so, and have found quite a few new apps that I hadn't used on my phone. So I thought I'd make a nice little list for the best apps out there that I have found and any others you guys have found I'll gladly add. It's nice to have a good list, rather than having to find them all through trial and error. All apps really, might put games on later but whether or not someone likes a game is pretty subjective so..</div>

Well worth the money. Basically automates anything you want based on events/times. If (this happens) then do &lt;action&gt;, sort of thing. For instance, If your gps shows you as being within 1km of your school, it turns your wifi on. Or from 8am till 3pm, your ringer is set to off, and your phone will automatically text anyone who calls "sorry in class". Very powerful, but takes a little time to set up your rules.</div>

For instance, my fave launcher is Holo Launcher HD.

Definitely add some, ill copy and paste it to the list. Would be a great starting point for anyone just getting an Android, or people who just dont like spending the time to find the best apps out there.

I just installed and setup my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIlJlbW90ZS5Ub3VjaC5TcXVpZCJd it cost 50 bones but cheaper then going to buy a remote. The remote app that comes with the unit just plain sucks ass;

Seems like a cool app, but $50 bucks?! Geezus. They'd do much better if they lowered the price down to 6 bucks. I'd rather spend a bit more money and get a remote. I've got a Logitech Harmony One right now and love it.

Going through the list I have to say I guess us AOSP / CyanogenMod guys are spoiled.

TeslaLED I used to love but thats built into CyanogenMod (Torch).

GOTO Lockscreen: Allows you to unlock directly into your email, sms, or dialer. Shows a little number next to each to show missed calls, unread mail, and unread texts. I LOVE this app. Problem is it has been abandoned so use at your own risk. Some phones it works great for, others it has annoyances with.

This is an AOSP ICS feature (except for the unread count). GOTO looks like its Sense (HTC) oriented.

On CyanogenMod you can actually edit the locations and what they go to.

Dazzle Configurable Switcher: Allows you to create a customized switcher bar widget for things like turning your wireless on and off. Very handy.
I have been on and off with this sort of thing for a long time. Different manufacturers have different Toggle schemes. There are a ton of widgets and power control widgets.
CyanogenMod lets you choose the toggles on your notification screen. AOKP has the "Extended Toggle" Scheme.

Quickboot: allows you to reboot, shutdown, or reboot into recovery mode with a simple button press.

I first saw quick boot when I ran Calkulin's rom. Guys developed for a few phones but most people wouldnt know the name. Even though most custom roms have this already built into the power menu.
CyanogenMod and even stock port AOSP roms and just about any custom rom, here is CM9's:

When you hit reboot it gives you the option of Recovery or Download Mode (Samsung ODIN), which is Fast Boot for Motorola, not sure about the other companies.

I would find the list agreeable, maybe swap a couple of the apps. But being on a tablet may make a difference as well. Titanium Backup is a must have for anyone rooted.

Launcher - For those who like the AOSP ICS/JB look Apex or Nova are recomendable. I came from Go Launcher on GB and Launcher Pro was popular well before I came around its kinda dated now. Have not used Holo myself.

SMS, Call Log, Contact Backup - I use Super Backup, supposedly Titanium Backup has an option now but its not too friendly with the extras department. Super Backup gets bad reviews here and there from people who switch phones and can't figure out where the folder is supposed to be. Especially when they move to a phone with internal and external storage. They added the ability to select the location. In my book as long as what you use works its good. I used Kies but that was not supported on the ICS leaks and now not on Jelly Bean.

Six Axis - Screw a WiiMote lol I use a PS3 controller.

Air Droid - Tablet users will never use something like this but phone users might like it. Especially if they use something like Kies Air (Samsung Users).

Updated with some requests and suggestions.

LOL. I like your description of Six Axis. It has its moments. Very powerful but you have to place the controls over the screen where u need them and without seeing the game at the same time.... kinda blows.

Quick Office I do own bought the big package with all the crap on sale for cheap. My phone came with something decent but it doesn't work outside of stock firmware.

Yah the ones I added were requests mainly and I dont have experience with them, so the descriptions are vague or interpreted from comments left on the app page. Like the office apps for instance...never bothered with because I've got a laptop. I'm not gonna be typing up office stuff on my tablet, but some people needed em.
And as far as cyanogenmod goes, I'd love to try it, but I think im done with the whole ROM replacement thing. It seemed to be too much of a headache to be worth it when I did it before.

We will have to chat over that some time. Id say it actually fits anyone that keeps a device well after the manufacturer stops supporting it (if the device doesnt have a locked bootloader). Which in Android terms can be just a year. Unless you buy a phone the day after it comes out you could see 3 android OS's in that time with the phone only getting 1 or 2. Jelly Bean is exceptionally fast on my device which came with 2.3 out of the box. So newer doesn't necessarily mean slower.

But ease, easily depends on the brand. Many Samsung devices i could pack CM9 for you and this would be the instructions: Boot to download mode, insert usb cable, press button, 5 minutes later your done.
Disastrous failure? Do it again, its also a fix :p The long way would be to flash a kernel with cwm (or odin it if not rooted), flash cm9 in cwm, flash gapps in cwm, reboot.

Motorola = You bought a device from a company who even after your device is out of warranty is still trying to prevent you from modifying it. They in the last couple of days released a bootloader unlock tool... for one phone (Photon Q). If they keep it up they will be like HTC. HTC can be a pain at times achieving S-OFF but better than nothing. I will likely stick with Samsung.

Added 32 Apps to the list and cleaned it up a bit/added new info.

Here's an Excel 2007 XLSX version and an HTML version. You'll have to download the html version to view it though.
Changelog is at the bottom of the files.

Still at this bot? I was gonna post about the .25 cent app sale but its pretty much done with. I got Nova Prime for 25 cents today. I usually use Apex, Nova is just as good and I used to use it and they both have paid versions which all in total have about the same features. But Nova Prime for 25 cents instead of 4 dollars hell yeah.

Nova Prime was even able to import all my homescreen icons and stuff from apex. The one thing i was dreading!

Yah I picked up a few apps I wouldnt normally bother with. Prolly spent about 4 or 5 bucks. And yes I'm still at it. Will always be at it. I wanted to finish the list up for a buddy of mine who doesnt know android, so he can have a good solid starting point.

Yeah I once did an entire video on how to root the Epic 4G Touch and use CWM to install custom roms and highlight custom launchers and shit and Bobsama never did root his phone.... Yeah never wasting time with that again lol.

Haha well this is for my own use as well. Whenever I format my phone it always takes me forever to remember what apps I had on there. This will eliminate that issue.

Ah. There is an app for that. Yeah Apple sue me. Plus the newer versions of play store these days has every app you ever installed listed. Swipe left when on the my apps screen. Apps you haven't installed recently (last time, etc) will fall to the bottom of said list. Once rooted Titanium backup will back up the apps with data which makes for a quick restore from wipes. Testing builds I often wiped the phone twice a day. It used to be cool to clean install stuff now and then but once its that frequent TiBu is a must.

I know, but it takes a while to go through them all page by page, and they're not sorted by genre.

That and any by the time u get 5 down the list u have to scroll all the way from the top! Further you go the more of a pain it is. Would be nice to clear off the apps u could care less about. That and bringing back the paid apps list to seperate it from the freebie apps.... maybe?
