BF:BC 2 Help requested

I got this game from steam for $5. The min I loaded the game and tried to play, it would ask me if I want to join a squad. the min i'd do so, my computer would crash to desktop everytime i tried playing this game. Can anyone give me any troubleshooting tips on getting this game to work and not crash to desktop on me? it's making me go nuts. I tried entering my info from the CD key and it wont even let me do that. please help!!!

that is a weird problem. Never heard of it. CTD happens rarely but not like yours. Did you try searching that problem on google?
 
Did you get your machine put together. There is absolutely no point in trying to use the stock graphics with this game. Anyways make sure your joining say one of our servers and not the damn auto game finding bs.
 
well, i tried looking on google and the only option I found was to go through my speakers through sound and uncheck two things. I'm going to try that out and see if it resolves the issue. hopefully, it does. if it doen't, i wouldn't know what else to do.

yes i did. i dont know if the stock graph card is still on but, soulzz said "we would have to unistall the nvidia drivers" not sure if that happend as i re-call but, im new to shit like this and dont know shit about it much either. I see lines/scratches when i try to join ts3 and as im online typing this away, I see lines from i dont know what i have no idea why Im seeing this shit now. Its pissing me off. I think my computers gonna go to shit and I would have to buy a new computer when i dont make much. gonna take the computer to soulzz house tomorrow so we can figure this shit out. hopefully, it all works out or, im screwed on buying a new comp.
 
I had this problem with BF2142 & took me 6 months to figure it out; no thanks to forums or EA. It had to do with my screen resolution. I had to lower it down some to get it to work. I don't know if this would be similar to your issue; but, it's worth looking into

still crashing. *shrugs* lol.. f**k! I can't figure this shit out. I can't even run the game as admin.
 
Create a shortcut to desktop from the Steam Library.

Right click - Properties - Compatibility - Disable Desktop Composition.

Also DL PBSETUP / PBSVC - update the pb files / reinstall the pb services

Should work now
 
Dark question 1, Were new graphics card drivers installed at all? If not fuck everything and get that done.

If your still using the nvidia drivers installed by HP for your GeForce 6150 then your going to have all kinds of fucking issues lol. The right drivers at all is better than a clean install at the moment. I pressed soulzz for the clean install route but fuck that atm.

Download and install which ever these matches your windows version:

You can also check your nvidia driver version using this app - Download GPU-Z 0.5.4 - Download - FileHippo.com The latest version is like 275.33 and id expect your shit to have been on like 170.xx lol

Me and him have been talking on the usefulness of the driver sweeper. Actually anyone using a radeon and windows 7 should steer clear it seems these days.

Yeah anyways relax dude get Soulzz to do his thing. I wish i had an answer on wether the driver was already updated but anyways it sounds like thats all he needs to do.

yes, new graph card drivers were installed. soulzz removed the NVIDIA drivers and I am guessing that he did do that too. at least I am not seeing those lines/scratches anymore. they r gone. Soulzz un installed/re-installed bf bc 2 and I also ended up getting BF2 again from steam because the cd that i have has scratches on the disk. so, hopefully this time I will be all good. seems to be good right now atm. the sound ticking is gone finally. I'm just hoping everything goes well this time. I haven't been able to play anything for the passed 3 days now. I got BF2 withdrawls. HAHA. let's hope it goes swell. *crosses fingers*

ya for sure dude. let's hope everything goes swell. BF2 is at 65% complete and BF BC2 is around 33% complete. BF2 seems to be going a bit faster than BF:BC 2. Dont forget sixer for the cpu. You never actually talked to him since he dealt with me. Im probably gonna get him a gift card for christmas or something. Anyways ill be home in like 5 hours and am off the next 2 days i will see you soon.

Um, last night me and soulzz finally figured out what the problem was and I got BF2 going but the thing is, I see artifacts in-game for bf2. Is there a way I can get rid of these artifacts that I see in-game and on my desktop? We have installed/downloaded everything we need and I still see artifacts. please, let me know. thanx
 
I figured I would add in that I have been talking to dark and soulzz and I immediately still suspect drivers. Looking into previous revisions and rolling back to maybe 190 series drivers from the 275 series probably being used now.

That is of course unless there is a problem with BF2 that is common that I dont know about.
 
Rain, what driver version do you recommend?
