The man behind the snake finally decided to move on. Shelby created the Shelby Cobra and did significant development on the Viper as well as winning the 24 hours of LeMans. The man is a true legend in the automotive world and he coined my personal favorite automotive euphamism "there is no substitute for cubic inches". RIP

bummer one of my all time fav car builders !89 is a good life though
 
I don't think he's ever designed something that didn't give me a stiffy. The only time I was ever ashamed of my hero was when he sold his name for the turbo daytona in the 90's which is 180 degrees from his philosophy.
 
He has some badass cars with his badge on them; the style & the HP to go with it; true legend.
 
Velocity channel is running a 3 part series (1 hour each) as sort of a tribute to Shelby.
A lot was left out about ferrari and how they changed the rules so ford couldnt run in the championship.
NYF YAIM was one of my favs.
