My amd control center will not open anymore. Something got corrupted and I think i fucked up my windows in the process attempting to remove the stubborn files, registry.

Would not uninstall, just gave me the option to repair or some other shit. I knew right away it was corrupted. I used driver sweeper and it looks like it messed up my windows live and some other files in C drive.

To the point, i still can't get the bloody amd control center to run after how many re-installations. All because I decided to upgrade my drivers from FUCKING steam. Normally i uninstall the driver reboot, install new driver reboot and done. Steam did not do this, just wanted to overwrite and got frozen in mid process. Had to force the installation to close (which is bad)

I looked up on some forums but its stupid, not really a solution. Everything works fine like gaming etc...but I can't get into my control center. I get a couple of errors at start up now but not sure if its serious yet.

the drivers, absolutely but still won't open the control center.

six i have this already installed and never once detected anything malicious ;)

soulzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz fly over here and fix my shit lol

I believe the control center is a separate program that you need to delete, then reinstall. However I think it only comes with the driver install. Anyone confirm that?

In all seriousness, did you try the malware removal tool I linked you to?

Also-start doing backup images. If you OS gets fucked just reimage the drive and you're done with the bullshit. Acronis is user friendly and does incremental backups or full. Paragon is stellar, but not user friendly to noobs. There are others, but those two are my favorites.

bah i tried norton ghost, that sucked. I will try acronis.

I have malaware bytes installed for months now. Never got any hits. I ran one yesterday to be sure and got none.

Bob i always install the big package about 90 MBs of download. So it comes with it.

lol @ sixer you are so involved ;B
Your like my father when I did something wrong and he tells me "I told you son" ;D

Norton Sucks ass...do not waste your time & money on that piece of shit software, good thing my work paid for that copy. I did switch to Acronis, very user friendly & most importantly it worked.

As far as removing the control panel drivers everything, you COULD do it with driver sweeper.

But in discussing the program with soulzz one day I learned something that might be of concern for the ATi/AMD guys. Apparently users of windows 7 experienced the inability to install service pack 1 after running driver sweeper on amd files due to it deleting one file that the service pack looks for thats related to graphics drivers.

Not sure if they ever fixed the issue but I assume your on sp1 already anyways. Could save you from doing an os reinstall now, might need to later because of it.

Also-start doing backup images. If you OS gets fucked just reimage the drive and you're done with the bullshit. Acronis is user friendly and does incremental backups or full. Paragon is stellar, but not user friendly to noobs. There are others, but those two are my favorites.

Agreed but the free way to do it is if you have a seagate drive in the system their drive tools has a limited version of acronis and ive been using that for the laptop for 3 years now.
