Alright well were not sure whats up. We found out someone accidentally didn't plug the gpu power connector in.... Not sure if the card or the mobo has been damaged in this process. But its now plugged in and working with very minimal artifacts drivers have been tested from 197 to the latest 275.33 with the same results.

We dont know if the 7900 GTX narc gave us was 100% to begin with and having run it without the external power were pretty sure its messed.

Dark's budget is about 100 bucks could stretch it a little. Bad Company 2 playability is a must looking at reviews 6670's are game and in the price range.

What would be nice is something he can get at best buy or frys and take back easily if it doesnt work out. But they dont usually have good prices.

100 dollar range spells out 6670 vs 440. 150 bucks could grab a GTX 460, GTX 465, MAYBE a 6850 but atleast a 6790.

SO gives us thoughts! Or if you have something to sell, donate OR something he can try out just to see if it works whatever!

As far as that goes he is getting black spotting all over bad company 2 as well. Described a guy looking like he was wearing a hippie suit as well.

Get like a 260 or something, even cheaper and it works fine in BF2
 
Not too pricy: GTX 460 or 465 should be ideal for bc2 if he wants to go there (which i am sure he is)

I don't mind going there for a better graph card. the more I spend, the better the graph card but my budget is no more then $120-$130 @max. I just would like to play BF2, BF3, BF BC 2 and Vietnam as well as a few other game's such as L4D. I don't want any more problems of these such things. it's gets on my nerves quite easily. I'd to like to be able to play games with no probs.
 
Damn.....that sucks. Those rainbow colors are some weird shit....Fuck it! Rip that bitch out and Ill help you wit gettin a new one homie. i feel kinda bad that it didnt work for you.
 
My only worry is that either we can run into pci express backwards compatibility issues or that the mobo could have been damaged from trying to draw too much power through the slot.

Hell you bought the cpu you should know what it is :p which btw went of without a hitch. We dont have too much for baseline comparison but he did say chrome works a hell alot faster now.

Well atleast BF2 is playable now but there are minor problems. Real problem atm is Bad Company 2 while now playable has major major issues with graphical glitches.

Don't feel bad we cant be 100% sure what happened. Im willing to throw a little at it as well money aint a thing I just aint a millionaire lol.

I tell you what ill throw a minimum of 20 bucks at it and I think I get paid a week before you. So if you willing to throw 100 at it and maybe narc wants to put something in hell we can get a GTX 460 or something in that upper midrange category and call it a fucking day.
 
i have 2 5770s sitting at home here, they got ousted by the 6970. only one of them is in a working state, but the other is under warranty i believe. they are yours if you promise to do the same for someone someday.

I think he only has one slot and the board wont support CFX anyways figured Id throw that out there.

But atleast we can test the system without spending much money lol. Pretty much one of the cards on our list to buy lol.
 
soulz and fasty made the rainbows on the hills, they each killed a person ...... looked at eachother... licked thier lips and went at it.... the rainbow effect is the aftermath of a steamy sexual battle, i guess you can call it massacre on sausage hill.
 
you want both, or just the one? i have no use for the broken one (artifacts) but if you want it you can fix it and use it in a later build. pm me an address and i will send em thursday or something.

I dont think he has a use for the broken one and I know he probably wouldn't feel like dealing with sending it in.

I lost his address i think so he will have to give it to you. If you want me to paypal you the money for the shipping or whatever let me know.
 
I am very happy with my 460. Not a problem with it in any game. Did you guys set the DX version in the settings.ini file for BC2? Is it a DX issue for BC2?

Having blue spots and rainbows in Battlefield 2 on multiple driver versions. We are having black spots and rainbow suited people in bad company 2. I am pretty sure at this point we have a damaged card, im worried about the mobo having tried to draw too much power through the slot as well.

If Bad company 2 tried to initialize a DX10 session it would fail all together. I mean its not to say its not worth trying but after studying dx9 programming I can tell you that the game cant try to call dx9 functions etc without complete failure.

This 5770 from z242pilot will allow us to make sure the mobo is still good to go for running a dedicated card and hopefully will work out for him. A 460 would be nice as well but its money.
 
Yeah, sounds like a bad card, but good idea for testing the board. I set my DX version to 9 for BC2, because its the only way I can alt tab out and still function. If needed I have an EVGA 8800 GTS for testing use or whatever.

Cool cool, yeah well hopefully the 5770 works out since z242 was kind enough to donate with the pay it forward method. But hell yeah if for whatever reason its nice to have something else available for testing.

Wow! I have serious memory problems. Yeah, I forgot to ask how the cpu was working out after you got it installed. But that should provide a decent bump in games along with the new GPU.


We hope it works better for you steppa! :)
 
thanks sixer!!! now it looks like my sound isnt working when i pull out my headphones from outside the front of the comp. FUCK!
