Finding darksteppa a new Graphics Card

oh yeah forgot to mention 5770 works great ( i have it). I can run bf2 all maxed and BC2 more or less on high with high FPS. Bf3 probably medium settings.

5770 very cheap now.

^Nice.

turns out that I can't use my speakers. the only thing i am able to use is my headphones. The min I pull out the headphones to try to use my desktop speakers, it doesn't work. I have tried to install/unistall the latest drivers and it's still the same result. Now, it got up to the point of where NOBODY hears me through Team speak. I have talked to rain/clutchizzle and they tried going through conference with team viewer and they couldn't resolve the issue. I talked to rain about unistalling these drivers and using a different one and I am still getting the same results. I dont know what to do anymore but sit here and stress over it and have a bunch of anxiety. This is driving me nuts here. All I want to do is be able to play bf2, bf:bc2 and bf3 all together without having problems. After ever since I took out the graphj card, my sound has been giving me issues. I can use my headphones through the front of my computer but when i remove the headphones to use the speakers I have, it doesn't work. Hopefully, we can resolve this issue. I dont know what the hell to do anymore. This is stressful. Someone please help!!! even though soulzz and rain said they would help, I gotta wait but untill then, I gotta keep using these headphones.

*shrugs*

maybe something in the headphone hack making the comp think they are still plugged in?

I don't know man. We have tried everything from unistalling the old drivers to the new ones and nothing. looks like im going to either need a new motherboard or I need a new comp which i cannot afford right now. Everything seems to be going downhill from here. this is bad. thanks again for sending out the graph card out to me by the way dude. much appreciated.

If your headphones are usb style they have their own sound card built in. I dont know if you overclocked at all but if you are you might want to consider dialing it back it can cause sound issues like your talking about.
If you are using onboard sound you could also be having issues if its a older mother board. The north bridge is famous for going out / becoming intermittent and making the onboard sound and pci express slot to fail.

If your using a sound card I would check to make sure the onboard sound is off.

For now thats all I can think of.

No No No and No lol. First thing is that a video card that needed 84 watts of power was run from the mobo with the power connector out so there goes your pci bus j/k. He doesnt overclock. The sound is onboard and is functioning perfectly except that despite detecting the rear sound port being plugged into wont switch audio to that port, the front is working fine both are detecting analog insertions.

His head phones are analog.

I believe it is a software issue but we cant rule out hardware. The day it stopped working all that happend was we removed the 7900 GTX and installed some windows updates apparently.

Sadly we are getting the detection of front plug removal. It was the first thought we had. Clutch who is familiar with this kind of problem when through realtek up and down.

My laptop model is notorious for that problem we had to develop an app to switch the output back and forth.

Alright I quit. With UAC disabled I....:

I uninstalled the device driver with the delete option. (reboot) I uninstalled the realtek software. (reboot) I driver sweeped the realtek shit. (reboot) I checked and it seemed the realtek shit was still listed in programs so i uninstalled again, double checked driversweeper which found no files. Reboot.

After wiping out all traces of the old drivers I installed the hp provided driver. End result even with fiddling, sound out the front port none out the back.

For the record. I tried telling realtek to allow simultaneous output it split the jacks into 2 devices. The front was still detecting disconnect and switching the default device to the rear!!!!!

Soundcard time lol.

Sounds like it's that time. Do you have room for a PCI sound card? If so, there's a great sounding card with stable drivers, the ASUS Xonar DS 7.1, which is low profile and $49.00

Newegg.com - ASUS Xonar DS 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Audio Card

I have an Asus Xonar Essence card and the drivers have been great, the sound is awesome and I fart in Creative's direction for their shitty drivers that produce popping and squelching sounds.

Seems a tad pricy but well worth it and it even has a spot so we can hook the front port up to it.

I think we ought to hold off until the 5770 arrives just to make sure we arent having any other issues with the mobo. But if that works out i think the sound card should be considered.

I think the price will be fine once we see how the video card works out on the current motherboard. Ill pitch in on the sound card if thats the route we go. He is using stereo speakers so yeah saving money on the 5.1 version is cool.

You can't go wrong with either one, the card kicks serious ass for the money and I love that the drivers are stable for Win7//Vista.

Hey, if he needs a headset I've also got a spare headset with mic in storage that I haven't used in like a year. It's a Creative soemething pro but it's 5.1 speakers and a good mic with a flexible stem. The left earcup lining has started to tear but it's just over the speaker part not the cushion that sits around the ear.

I already have one but as rain stated that if you want to donate it, that seems fine with me. lol..thats completely up to you though. what I have though isn't a headset. it's a desktop mic and a pair of skullcandy headphones. pm me if you decide that you would like to donate it. I'm just tryna get this comp back to original state of where everything works but since it's like this, I could use anything to get this P.O.S. to work.

One again, thank you ALL of supporting me of getting this shit to work. Thanks for everything EVERYONE. doesn't matter who you are, you guys are great, wonderful people that actually look out for one another. Thats why I like this clan a lot. All theother clans don't give a shit about you. BIG UPS TO TBG!!!

Fuck. That won't do. The headset is the Creative Fatal1ty Professional Series Gaming one. Like I said it's cosmetic on the fabric over the L speaker everything else is fine and it's structurally sound and a pretty damn good headset and mic. I'll pm you.
