From a friend in Atlanta; thought it was funny.
Very true; tomorrow will make a whole week lost to snow then ice. I will say that this place is a mess though. Atlanta is not used to 6+ inches of snow, then some light rain for that extra sheen, followed by four days of below freezing temps (even during the day). My back yard still has about 4 - 5 inches of snow but my 100lb dog doesn't even break the surface due to the layer of ice out there.
Arturo: absolutely. My street is a pretty significant hill and the whole thing turned into a 1/4 mile luge run. We must have spent 5 or six hours doing nothing but racing down (and trudging up) that fucking hill. When that finally got boring, we joined the rest of the neighborhood on the golf course for some extra time. Shitty part is one of the twins started in with asthma the next day and we have been stuck inside ever since. Today was the first day I could even get out of the neighborhood.
Erik: for Atlanta it's a major event, and they are completely unprepared for it (government and residents). Basically it is a zoo with partially cleared roads and some people being cautious with others driving like it was fucking summer. I saw two cars find their way into snow drifts within a couple miles of my house.
