So I get the only Kindle Fire HDX that can't fucking connect to a network right out of the box. Amazon's tech support can't fix it and said the same thing I did, that I'd never even seen or heard of one that couldn't fucking connect. I'm so happy to get that shit brand new.

That sucks. Can they overnight you a replacement?

That REALLY SUX. Amazon tech support can be real idiots when you need help with stuff. Hope things work out quickly for you Sixer.

However that is why I will always be a NOOK fan. Something wrong with it that I cant fix. A simple trip to Barnes and Noble and im taken care of.

Nook can suck my ass-why do I have to jump through 6 fucking hoops to read or borrow a book. Oh yeah, Nook got in bed with DRM whereas Amazon said fuck you to that and I don't have to jump through those hoops. Anyway, they're sending out a new one or yet another new one at no cost so we'll see how it goes.

had that problem with ipad mini , believe it or not , some ipad ,kindle and others are wi-fi ONLY , make sure you get one with cellular service + WI-FI

I want a larger reading surface for web applications...do they have 9" phones?

I have a 5.7" which is pretty damn big, it's also 1920x1080 native resolution and can take UHD video. It's good on the internet but I would be lying if I said another 2" would be good for web browsing. Good for watching Netflix though.

One is a nexus, the other is a galaxy 3. Serious though, very similar tablets, nexus doesn't have any bloat ware on it and at first glance is open to carriers. Need to verify that it is CDMA or GSM dependent on your carrier. The galaxy is AT&T specific, and even rooted is still GSM only.

edit: hard to view on phone, but I believe the nexus is a more powerful tablet than the galaxy 3. Weighs a bit less too. Run to best buy and man handle them a bit to help your decision.

Sixer, if you are wanting anywhere data without the need for a wifi connection then you have two options.

A carrier specific option (like the AT&T one you linked above), on ATT, Sprint, Verizon, or T-mobile, etc.
Or you can get a GSM unlocked tablet that you can put a T-mobile, AT&T, or international Data sim card in.

Who is your current cell phone carrier? You may be able to get a better price on mobile data if you get a data plan for the tablet from your current cell phone carrier.

I've personally never had a tablet with Cell phone Data, just wifi.

Yeah, same here Doc I was just looking to add a tablet to my data plan and about the only thing I knew of with 4g was the Kindle Fire HDX but if I can add the Nexus 7 4g to my data plan that would be better price wise.

Get the nexus 7! It's very inexpensive for the hardware you get. And your operating system gets updated by Google directly.
I love mine and have read about 14 books on it.

Also Six, you might try going to Best Buy if there is one in the area. They will have a large selection of various LTE capable tablets and you can at least play with some to make sure you like them before you order. My local best buy has fantastic selection and customer services. I do realize that is not the norm though.

I bought the Nexus 10 since it's release and I like it. Girlfriends has the IPAD and it is noticeably heavier and bulkier...
