So, I have until the end of May to complete a biuld. This is my time line that I set. I was wanting to get a 680, but with that card in very low supply. And I don't have any existing card to use. So, would you guys... (options in the poll above)

I missed my notification from evga; that is the only sniff I've had; I know Microcenter have the Galaxy 680; but they are about $100 more than newegg.

i could give u another option but then soulz would have to move this to NSFW.

I don't know, I got one on the first day they were out. Newegg gets new supply between 11am and 1pm EST so it's a good time to look. I love the 680, kicks the 580's ass IMO.

never ever AMD unless you wish to burn down your house, im running gtx570 and it still beats most. as you have a pc, you can just buy more than one 570 & have fun.

While I'm not to fond of MSI, however I do like the advanced cooling compared to the stock cooling.

Newegg.com - MSI N680GTX Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

I have the ATI 6980 version of that card. I may have to upgrade to another card. But I have to see what the computer repairshop has to say. My card runs between 28 to 31 degrees normally depending on outside temperture.

I don't have a preference over NVIDA or ATI. The only driver issue I had with ATI was when the 10.1 or 11.1 driver came out. Two days later they corrected it with the 10.12 or 11.12 driver. I haven't had a problem since.

Yeah well last ATI i had I had issues on Catalyst 4.1 4.2 4.3 4.4 4.5 4.6 4.7 4.8 4.9 4.10 4.11 4.12 and if you were to have tried 5.x and above card performance would drop 80% because back then you did not use the latest drivers with last years card. I know its gotten better since then but 100% serious about the above. My X700 never had a driver that did not have some sort of weird issue in a game. Just had to try every driver and pick the one that worked best for the game.

I would give a 7970 a Whirl these days but still prefer Nvidia.

I have a Gigabyte 7970 with their custom cooling. If you can find a 680 go for it, if not this 7970 is OC'ed and I never see it above 50 degrees and it is really quiet.

Yeah, and that translates to games too, not just synthetic testing. You notice a huge difference.
