Tartu I figured you would have understood the dangers of Government disarming their citizens more than anyone given your location and the history surrounding those locations. While it was hyped up a bit it is absolutely true that societies that have let their governments disarm them have fallen prey to what happens next, which is usually a form of a socialistic society, in one form or another. Most if not all of these societies started out losing a little more freedom here and there, bit by bit, until finally they had little to no freedom left. It's all there in black and white for those that read history. You can see it in America now. A new law here, a new law there, and of course all for the benefit of society, or so they say.
Arguably the first step is the de-education of the society, which started in America a long time ago (I personally think that started 50+ years ago). Unless you personally take the initiative to re-educate or educate yourself you will not learn much in public schools of today. I look at what my grand parents were taught in the 20's and 30's to what my nieces and nephews are taught today it amazes me they have any learned knowledge at all. Hell the one school my nephew attends will not allow them to take the books out of the class. I showed up in his class one day and they would not let me look at the books at all and had me escorted off the campus.
Whenever my nieces and nephews come out to visit I make them read a few chapters of any old book I have in my personal library. Some are classic literature of course, but many are just great books on various subjects.
