I got my Nexus you bastards.

In case no one has seen this, outside of Google:

T-Mobile has been doing some good things to shake up the cell phone market. Offering to pay EFT fees has me considering dumping Verizon. My only hangup is friends who have had really poor experiences with T-Mobile customer service.

The main reason I chose this phone was being sim unlocked so if I have trouble with one carrier I can just leap off. Prepaid is okay except for no roaming and the BYOD plans are getting pretty good. No roaming was something I got used to in Sprint it would hardly ever allow me to roam onto Verizon.

I heard it can be difficult to put an unlocked phone on AT&T because they like to provision based on the IMEI and when its not in their database they won't allow LTE. Easy way get the imei off a dead phone that's not blacklisted and was lte.

I honestly don't know for sure. But Verizon has always had the best coverage in Cali period.

AT&T will cost you just as much these days the plans might start low but in the end they cost just as much. They now charge for text messaging its 20 on top of any plan to make it unlimited.

OK. I'll see what I can find.

Are they actually getting paid by whatever the kitkat umbrella company to advertise this shit? Is it meant to be a joke or something? I don't get why they keep naming their releases after candy...

In other news, I bought a "mint condition" used Nokia Lumia 920 for $160 on LeBay today. My first smartphone to replace an ancient Nokia N70 ME that I've had for close to 10 years now ;-) . It's about time. I'm mostly excited about Skype video calls on wifi in the palm of my hand and gasbuddy on the go.

Was a bit torn between HTC One X and Sony Xperia T, but decided to go with the Nokia because of reasons :-/ . Idk, I like sucking Microsoft dick over Google I guess? Apple can go suck their own btw. Not sure if I made the right choice. I can always sell it and buy another one if I really don't like it anyway.

Gaben should make a steamphone running lolnux nonoperatingsystem so I can throw my money at his obese ass.

Well key lime pie was the rumored code name for a long time along with 5.0 but we got 3 jelly beans instead and Key Lime Pie actually was the code name right up until the device shipped based on the software references. Kit Kat references showed up earlier too and it was a big question how they would have rights to use the name. Apparently they have some sort of deal. But they like to name builds after deserts and treats. The api level is damn near 20 now so unless u like chrome version numbers... Lol

HTC One X wasn't a bad phone but if you don't hate quadrant here is what I have to say about that:

ITS OVER 9000! Soulzz Gnex is on that list as well. I didn't test on stock not sure if mine is better or worse than factory firmware.

Chances are quadrant is too dated. But even 3DMark is useless and it just came out. You have regular and extreme and they both say its too light for this phone. Your supposed to run the unlimited test instead.

I don't really care about performance in a smartphone that much. As long as it can encode skype video and decode ogg/flac/mp3, that's most of what I want.

I'm skeptical I'll be playing any games or doing any transcoding or something really heavy where performance actually matters on a handheld, at this time anyway. More is nice, but again I'm not going to pay more than double for it.

Also the HTC One X and most of these "cheap" phones are 8920 dual-cores, so if yours is a quadcore, it might explain the difference :-D .

I need to buy a new phone, I'm with Verizon. Kind of decided on a Galaxy Note 3 because it has a huge HD screen and fast processor. Since I have to pay full price, where will I find the best deal? Ebay?

I'd say ebay if you're looking for cheap... Just make sure the esn is clean and that the seller has more than 0 feedback. WAY more stolen phones than I expected there... a bit ridiculous really, I'm amazed they're allowed to be sold.

Don't look now but transplanting the Dalvik libraries from the Moto X to my phone just doubled my CPU score, Memory and IO are up as well as 3D. Sadly 2D performance is down.

As far as encoding video most SoC's have dedicated H.264 encoders which you will find most of your software using to make on the fly compression possible. No real worries there. The open formats aren't widely supported but thats usually software end and plenty of apps that do support them.
