I am doing an upgrade next week so I was trying to decide between my faithful walk with iPhone's or perhaps maybe I would go with the Galaxy this time. Looks like the iPhone 5 for me.

It's not always about hipster's. I rock an iphone 4, and I use a lot apps for day to day stuff. A couple of apps, that originally wasn't offered for android devices.

yeah, but even cotton pants can scratch an iphone 5, the connection usually sucks and the screen is tiny compared to android counterparts

If your invested in one platform I see no reason to switch unless your unhappy. I see idiots flip flopping for no reason.

Ha! You didn't watch the video..... the screen is PERFECT!

They didn't compare the iPhone 5 to a recent phone. Galaxy Nexus is 2 years and 4 generations behind, though its only been out for 14 months. The current Nexus is the LG Nexus 4 which is an LG Optimus G with no SD or LTE. I don't like it and there are many other choices.

Galaxy S4 is around the corner. But comparing the i5 to an old ass phone is dumb. You can't even get the phone new from Google anymore. Its old only a few people even want it anymore.

I have owned every generation of the iPhone except for 5 (2G, 3G, 3Gs, 4, 4s). That being said, I currently have the Galaxy SIII (Marble White) and couldn't be happier. There's simply no comparison - the Samsung affords a much better experience and a far more advanced environment.

Los it actually brings up a point about how the experience can vary.

The old Galaxy Nexus is a Nexus phone and technically not a Galaxy device. Nexus phones run a Vanilla Android OS. The counter part in that gen was the Galaxy S2 which runs Samsung's flavor of Android touchwiz. The manufacturer tends to add some more features and their own apps. Going from the Galaxy Nexus to the LG Nexus 4 would offer the same experience and going from the Galaxy S2 to the S3 or any other Samsung Phone would be about the same. But going from say the Nexus 4 to the LG Optimus G which has the same hardware has a different software experience.

A Samsung TouchWiz user like Renno might tell a Motorolla MotoBlur user something that doesn't quite line up.

I run CyanogenMod and any phone running Cyanogen mod will have the same OS experience as another. Its the Vanilla Android OS plus some of the features manufacturers and custom ROMs add. A nexus user would feel right at home.

Some people don't like having a choice and honestly sometimes that's perfectly okay.

I'm with you! I was a huge iPhone fan until I got a Nexus 7 tablet, and realized my phone could be like that. My iPhone 5 arrived but I got an S3 instead. Love the phone, it's only issue is battery life, but with the bigger screen and the freedom I get, it's completely worth it.

The battery definitely could be a tad better. But I take comfort in the fact that the battery is cheap and easily replaced should it ever become an issue. =P

I knew whatever smartphone I got I'd fry the battery in a year. I know how to take care of a lithium ion but with phones its hard. Even though 6 months in I started cycling in a second battery my original battery swelled at the 1 year mark.

Can't bring myself to use an extended. My backup dumb phone is 5 years old now its extended battery still holds a weeks standby charge.

the nexus is trash ... i worked as technical support for sprint/verizon for a few years ... the iphone 5 has issues too though mainly with power. battery failures and such ... the galaxy 3 and the iphone 5 are extremely close to the same tech specs... just depends if you like ios or android
... ... have the galaxy 3 personally and have had 0 issues with it.

Joe the main issue I've seen with Samsung is the Qualcomm GPS in the hands of Samsung is a bad combo. They actually use a service called Angry GPS to keep it in line at times. I've had good luck with mine first year always worked perfect. Running into issues on Jelly Bean. 4.1.2 it works okay but I haven't migrated to 4.2 yet my GPS won't work some people with the same phone are okay. My radio might be dying.

4.1.2 isn't even out for the Sprint GS2 but its about to be.

I love my GS3, and my wife switched from the iphone to the Galaxy Note 2 and could not be happier -- the thing is huge, but she doesn't need her bifocals to see it, I was able to get through her VPN with it (which means she was able to kick the Blackberry to the curb), and the ability to do what you like is fantastic. That said, like Rain pointed out, if you are happy with the iphone and invested in the ecosystem then why change.

WTF, I'm still rocking a DroidX from 2010! Never replaced the battery either....Guess I'm just lucky but I haven't had one issue and it does everything I need including getting my ass from Pittsburgh International to Irwin PA using the GPS today.

Lol red. My father has the phone after that the Droid X2 and Moto screwed him. 2.3 Gingerbread doesn't take full advantage of multi core cpusndespite having a SMP kernel. There was no reason for them not to upgrade the X2 to 4.0 but it joined a long list of Motos that didn't.

If you don't upgrade till the next OS version comes out you might be in shock when u go to use it.

If your going to base any decisions on this dumbass video I would reconsider; lets waste close to 2 minutes about using one hand to navigate the screen size. The Nexus is not even a flagship phone by any means, a 3 year old would choose the icrap from the video.

I got a Galaxy S3 on 4.2.2 custom ROM and kernel. The Iphone can't touch this!
I would wait for S4 If I where you. Or If you like apple just get the 4s with one more row of icons. Ohh sorry they call that the I phone 5:)
