My build is done finally.

I haven't checked the benches these days but it really doesn't matter, they are close and in some cases back and forth. Those looking to save a little cash the FX-8350 is 50 USD cheaper than I can pickup the i7-4770K for which in your case you can't get that price your in Canada so even better deal with the AMD still. Those blowing money on the 4.7/5.0Ghz model of Vishera are probably a little nutso. Spending more money than Intel seems a bit off point.

The prinicipals behind Bulldozer and Vishera are the same as hyperthreading. It was executed differently. Sharing front end decoders and FPU's did end up with lower performance over Intel for many tasks. It was however AMD's vision that the world is moving FPU operations off the CPU and onto the GPU. The differences in designs mean the different tasks take sides between Intel and AMD. I would say in Gaming your likely to find no clear winner as if your CPU is that loaded your in fucking trouble no matter what brand your with.

Personally I am hoping the shadow play recording taking a load of my CPU will let this i5 breathe a little longer but it looks like a i7-3770K is in my future to keep the rest of this rig chugging along through the next generation of games. I know you used to like to record and since you also got the 770 thats a load off your CPU as well.

Fuck, Microcenter has these for $199 now. I just got one for my wife's pc. She loves it coming from a first generation I3. If you have an 1155 motherboard you're all set since you don't need to change that at all.

Edit: They're $249 right now, wait for Xmass and then the price drops :)

Which one I am confused lol. You did have to get her a board though right? First gen i3 was 1156. I looked the other day they had the 3770K and the 4770K listed at the same price I was like wtf.

Nah, I got her an 1155mb at the time so it wasn't necessary; however, I did get her a new MB because the one she had was a first generation EUFI MB and had trouble with more than 3 drives connected at once. So, I got her a new MB to go with it and now she has 5 drives connected no problem. But yeah, over the recent sales, the 3770K was $199 and the 4770K was $249 so a good deal either way.

Edit: and you're right they still have both listed right now at $249

That is a nice build you have there. I personally have the Antec 920 and it works like a dream. The noise is low ( I can't hear them over my GPUs) and it keeps temps in the low 40's with my AMD FX-8150 OCed(all cores to 4.4ghz). The only problem is that it is a closed system so if you want to one day expand your water cooling to the GPU as well you will have to get a new cooler instead of expanding on what you have.

Nice build. I have my updated parts sitting next to me and will swap stuff out in the next few nights when I am in the mood. I have a Lian Li case with two 140mm in the top so bought the corsair hydro 110. Pretty sure it will fit bit you know how that goes.

I have a 770 GTX 4 GB OC also. So far it has been great and running cool.
