So, I am toying with the idea of getting a new monitor before the end of next month. I would like to get a 27in monitor that will be my primary. I will probably end up with a 23in Monitor on either side of that.

Any suggestions? Primary concern is quality, followed by best bang for the buck. I was considering something like this:
ASUS VS278Q-P 27 Class LED Monitor - 1920 x 1080, 16:9, 80000000:1 Dynamic, 1ms, 2x HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, Energy Star at TigerDirect.com

Any feedback is appreciated.

The don't sell them anymore which sucks but I bought a HannSpree 27" 1920x1200 from Tiger Direct about 3 years ago for $250 and it's been great. I wasn't expecting much from a generic monitor but the thing has been rock solid with a nice picture. Looks like they don't sell a 1920x1200 model anymore.

I have been using an ASUS 24 inch for about 3 years now, was priced reasonable if I remember correctly, no problems and good picture IMO.

Mac I have the same one (wife now inherited) but I-INC I-Inc iF-281DPB 28 Class Widescreen LCD Monitor - 1920x1200 WUXGA, 800:1 Contrast, 3ms, HDMI, VGA, Energy Star, Tilt & Swivel Stand, w/Speakers at TigerDirect.com
It's been great for me too, I'm positive the 19x12 has been beneficial in games I play.

Doc - the ASUS VS278Q-P is a decent monitor. I would recommend this one though 27" ASUS VG278HE Black 27" 2ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 50,000,000:1 Built-in Speakers 3D ready, Height, Swivel adjustable - Newegg.com or this 24" Newegg.com - ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD 3D Monitor Height&pivot adjustable 350 cd/m2 80,000,000:1 Built-in Speakers
Both are 144hz refresh rate I don't think I could play at 60hz refresh again. The smoothness factor is awesome in BF3 and I find I get more kills since switching over to the higher refresh rate.
If you are after quality then the higher refresh the better imo, even if it's a TN panel. So with that said I would even pick the 24" I linked above over the 27" you was looking at. Check out the reviews on newegg. :)

I got 2 22" AOC monitors that are good plus one Viewsonic 1080p 22" in the middle which is decent is well. Some people hate ViewSonic but ive found it really good. Also got a 44inch Sony TV which i use sometime and ontop of that a projector. Word of advice. Never get a projector to game on lol. They are great for movies etc. but not for gaming.

Thanks guys. I'll look into it and do some more research as well.

dont projectors like burst into flames when gaming? :D

I'm happy with my 23" 4 year old dell still and I think I am going to hold out until oled monitors are available for a reasonable price. I would much rather have awesome image quality and contrast than a couple million extra pixels!
