I thought this was a joke or something... saw it posted on HardOCP a couple of days ago.
Apparently, the story's picked up and it seems like other people have been sold what appears to be... counterfeit i7 920 processors?!!!
I'm not sure if they work fine or anything, or how they're made (reverse-engineered or a "rogue" factory somewhere in Malaysia?!!?) but this is surely crazy in these times. I mean, rev-engineering and that shit went on a lot in the early days, but I didn't think it was feasible today, nevermind with the latest generation of processors!
