Hey guys,

Just to let you know, Razer currently has a special offer running until the 31st of december where you are able to choose between
a) downloading Razer Virtual surround 7.1 for free
b) paying a certain amount of money for it which will go to Cild's Play Charity

Basically most people who thinks they own a 5.1/7.1 surround sound headset... don't. Very few true 5.1 headsets for example were ever made. Pull apart your favorite Razer, Logitech, whatever and most of them will only have 2 speakers. Its a rare exception like these http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-tiamat-71

Most of the USB 5.1/7.1 headsets use HRTF to mimic surround sound and I mean it sounds great to some extent. This software basically does it for any headset, analog or possibly some usb. It takes the surround sound data from games and applications and processes the sound to send to the headset. Much the way the USB headsets that come with their own similar software do it.

This would be Razer's app if you like Razer's Surround Sound technology but say wanted to use it with your favorite Sennheiser cans.
 
Some audio drivers do it already without telling you or without calling it "HRTF."

Unrelated to anything but I was thinking about getting a Roccat Kone Pure. Went with the deathadder :-S . Maybe next time.
