Now, I'm a savvy guy when it comes to computers. However, this has got me stumped.

I'm doing a install of windows on the newly SSD that I have got in the mail. :) Now, after windows installs and it reboots. I get an error that the installation failed and undoing changes. And literally the message says" Windows failed to install, check online for compatibility information". Which I know is a crock of shit, since every other person out there has installed Win7 on SSD.

Anyone have thoughts that I haven't thought of yet?

I'm just throwing random ideas around here...

Does your BIOS have any issues with SSDs? Firmware upgrade required?
Any RAID set up at all?
Disk boot priority set to DVD then SSD with no other choices?
SSD in SATA slot 1?
Tried removing your mechanical drives (no idea how this might help)?
And of course...
Have you tried turning it off and back on again? ;)

Is your motherboard compatible with your SATA controller for the SSD?

Check with your vendor for firmware; i had the similar issue but; 1-2months down the road. My BIOS didn't not see my SDD; in my case I had a to download the firmware; made a bootable disk; made that bootable disk the only option in boot order; loaded up and follow the instruction; my firmware was 5 & 9 was the most current. So far I haven't had any issues in 3-4 months.

Thanks for the help guys,

I had to manually create a boot file for the drive, though I wasn't having any issue seeing the drive to install too. Which makes no sense. But, that was per instrustions from Corsair.

All I have to say is, after a couple of tweaks my laptop starts to full windows in 7 seconds. Amazing how fast SSD are.

Now I get to Download the 2G update to BF3. Which will take about 24-30 hours :(

Remove the GUI boot,=knocks 2-5 seconds off
the obvious one is to remove the boot sequence to just the Drive.= 1-2 seconds
The others is to remove a lot of start up items,

I might have exerated a little, I think my boot time is closer to 10-13 seconds.

I do one tweak at a time to see how the Comp reacts, cause making changes to advance load times isn't always the greatest idea to do.

I think it is a stupid idea.. I mean as long as it boots. Mine is around 10s.. With a SSD as well. Why need it any faster? Although I love the fast shutdowns :D.

Yes, SSD no caching has aleady bitten me. had to turn it back on. I was ripping movies, shut the comp down, woke up just to find the file was deleted due to shut down. :(
