I'm looking to get a ssd. The samsung evo just came out looks good for price and performance. I'm looking for a boot drive amd run bf3 and bf4. ( bf3 for the days that bf4 is down). I'm thinking 250 fb so if if get any games I could put them on there. And how cam I transfer from my hard drive. I got a 2tb sea gate barracuda hard drove in there now.
So what 250gb ssd for around $250?
And I would b putting windows 8 on there instead of the windows 7 I have.

If u need to know system specs
3570k i5
Asus saber tooth z77
2tb senate hard drive
Corsair cx 750 power supply
Gtx evga 780(getting on Friday before ssd gonna sli)
A sound blaster sound card

If I need to pup my watts that would b nice to know as well thanks!

I bought my first SSD for my new build. I got the Samsung 840 Pro 256GB off of Amazon (think $234.99) and would strongly recommend it. Cannot believe how much better my system runs - best investment in a long time!

You'll get better performance (albeit marginal I'm sure) and fewer issues (as well as less messing around) if you do a clean install onto a SSD.

The Samsung SSD's are fantastic and reliable. The included software is very low footprint and will quickly adjust optimal Windows settings for you. There ARE a number of these setting that you want to ensure are adjusted. This improves your performance and the life of your drive.

I've got an Intel 520 series and it's steady Eddy. I have nothing to compare it against because it's my first SSD but it's been about a year and for sure it's reliable.

I got a Kingston Hyper X 250gb SSD and I think it is great. I put Windows 7 and bf3 on it still have 129GB free space on it.

I just did a clean install of Windows 8 on it. I hooked up my old HDD as a slave and salvaged anything I wanted and reformatted it. Now it's just serving as storage for music, movies, porn, etc. =)

Yep. That's how I would have done it. I can boot windows 7 pro in about 7 seconds.

How can I have origin on my ssd but not all my games is that possible if so how?
