Edit:Update is post number 10 or something.

Old:
So I was in the middle of a LoL match and my computer just turned itself off - and won't come back on.

No wierd smells, noises or anything before hand. Not sure if its the Power Supply or the new motherboard.
Huge bummer since I was planning on getting a lot of gaming in this holiday weekend.

Tomorrow I'll have access to a PSU, so we'll find out if mine is dead or not.
Going to return the motherboard regardless for a better one. Nothing wrong with this one, but its not as nice as I've had in the past and seems to put off more heat.

Can someone help me pick out a watercooling kit? I'm going to return my Corsair H80i. I have not been impressed with it.
I'd like to start with just my CPU for watercooling but eventually I would like to put my 7950's on water instead of air.

Thankfully I have my laptop so I'm not without the abilty to get online and play, its just not my desktop. :here we go:

Pull the 24 pin connector and jump pins 13 and 14. Might want to use a fan or something to see if you get power. If the PSU latches then check the power switch either by a continuity test or jumping the motherboard pins. If the PSU latches and the switch isn't bad and you still can't get a response from the motherboard then its probably the motherboard.

Does the motherboard have its own power switches mine does. Also double check the CMOS reset jumpers.

What were the temps on your CPU? Did you ever reseat the pump and change out the thermal gel?

Yeah, I updated the original thread I had. I reseated with fresh paste and also switched the fans so they were both blowing out.
It lowered it by about 3C degrees. On average though, it was about 36-40 at idle and 60-70 playing games. I felt it it heated up to 50C sometimes just by opening a few programs that had constant (but not heavy) activity.

I'd like to get a radiator (I can fit 2 120 or 140mm fans on it with my case), pump, etc for an actual water cooling setup. I want the pump and such to be good enough that I can add 2 GPU water blocks this fall without issue.

Looks like the PSU is whats bad, but I'm going to exchange the MOBO and return the H80i for now.

: CyberPower Xtreme Hydro Liquid Cooling Kit 240MM w/ Dual Fan(CPU & GPU Liquid Cool Capable, Extreme Overclocking Performance + Extreme Slient at 18dBA)

That's what I am using and it gets the job done, no complaints.

High-Performance Non Conductive Coolant powered by Koolance (Blue Color)

I can't find anything other than forums on your kit.
I'm going to attempt the H100i tonight and see what happens, otherwise I'll be on air until I have the time to learn more about true water cooling.

Let me know what you are thinking about; I have a ton of extra crap laying around; I have an XSPC Raystorm XSPC RayStorm High Performance Acetal CPU Liquid Cooling Block - Special Edition Copper (Intel) (Sockets LGA 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011) - FrozenCPU.com that I just took out. I'm using a Koolance block now. I've done quite a bit of cooling with water; just jump on TS one of these nights if you have any questions

Thanks Balls, I'll hop on and give you a shout once I get my computer back up and running (hopefully tonight).

The 100i and 80i are not much different in cooling ability. I still say you had either a bad 80i or something else going on.

Yeah, it could be that as well. I will find out when I get home.
Here's hoping!

Ok. So I figured out the issue finally! one of my GPU's is/was causing a short!
I got the new PSU, MOBO and cooler and installed today....and then the computer wouldn't turn on. I slowely removed components until poof! It works perfect.
No matter what I do I can't get my 2nd card to work, it causes the computer to stop the process of turning on after fans just barely start to spin.

Gotta RMA with MSI I guess. But, good news is I just reinstalled Win7 and should be back up and running soon! Thanks for all the feedback everyone!
