1. A hoe is a tool with a thin flat blade used for tilling, mixing, cultivating or loosening the ground. It derives from the Middle English word howe-meaning to hew, or hack. See Picture:
2. A Ho is slang for whore, adopted from the interjection ho! which was usually followed up by a direction or destination such as "Land Ho!". See picture below:
