Woke up this morning to a basement full if water and both the pipes that go to the spickets out doors have split pipes .. Water shit off to the house cause they only have a shut off at the pump for the entire house .. Waiting on the plumber for 3 hrs now . Looked like a sprinkler system was going off in my basement. About 7" of water in the basement. Woo hoo.

I am totally inventing a hydraulic shuttle valve that the everyday user can install on their home system with pressure sensors to prevent this very thing from happening again to someone. you are the 3rd person I have talked to that this has happend to this week.

a little Leak Detection Isolation logic would do wonders for the home owner

There are recovery teams for water damage that are on call 24hrs and will get there in under an hour. Why wait for a plumber?

I need the plumber to fix the pipes so I can turn my water back on .. We have already called Servpro to clean the water up .

Good deal then, except for the plumber taking so long which is a bummer :(

I would invest in a sump pump & a dehumidifier; I used to restore homes with water damage. Once you get most of the water out put some fans out to get the water in the air & use the dehumidifier.

Yeah servpro came and cleaned up all the water, they left fans down there running, We have a dehumidifier that runs 24/7 and there is a trauf drainage system down there that runs to a sump pump but that is only for wall water. Problem is one of the pipes that burst was right over my wifes $4000. washer and dryer, the dryer is dead .. Going to buy a new one when she gets home then turn invoice into insurance .

make sure you have cut off valves on ANY pipes that go outside , close the valves and open all water spigots and keep them open , this will keep you spigots from expanding the ball valve so they wont leak in the spring and you will never have the problem again.

Good luck and I hope nothing got damaged too bad.
