4K Display Resolution @ 120 Hz

Calm your tits Rain. Yes I did not read the whole thing. I wanted to post it yesterday but didn't get to.

Calm your tits Rain.

I can't their on fire! All im saying is were already discussing it seemed kinda odd to come in at that point.

this 4k stuff needs 3 years to go mainstream. Till then I'm staying the fuck out. Early adopters always get burned with BS products that cost a fortune.

I just want to see 2560x1600 break out of the 30 inch market. When HDTV's came to market there was little excuse for 32 inch TV's to be only 720p. First thought that comes to peoples minds when I say that is cost of manufacture and consumer price point. However its mostly bullshit especially 5 years later. Panel and display manufacturer price fixing is in full effect still and that helps to hold shit back. Though for broadcast television it hardly matters. Gaming is a problem for 2560 and 4K widths since graphics cards have not taken a real leap to where this is affordable.

Operating systems, software and websites do not yet really scale well either. Higher resolution does not have to mean smaller elements. In an ideal world everything will have very high resolution samples but are scaled down in physical size on lower resolutions. This way in consumer applications a button on a 4K monitor will be about the same size as it would be on a 1080p monitor. The consumer gains the advantage of very high detail pictures and video without losing usability. But that idea doesn't work as well for commercial applications. A commercial application for high resolution will likely not include small high resolution monitors, it will include large high resolution monitors. They want the elements to stay the same size so they can fit more onto the same screen. A problem for software interface designers for sure.

As a mid budget gamer I will keep gaming on a 1080P screen but it would be nice to have a 2560x1600 or 4K display for design and video editing.
