Tech gods I summon you!!

you know roth, that might work perfectly if i use it kinda like the rear exhaust fan, having those 2 250mm fans blowing cool air in and then that fan cooling the cpu and helping expel the hot air. hmmmm

the h50 im assuming? ive been reading a ton and watching youtube videos on it.

some people are doing a push/pull with two fans sandwiching the radiator. the owners manual "states" that you use the fan to draw cool air in from the back over the radiator. i have a 230mm case fan on the top of the case so its doing all of the heat expelling work.

the h50 may be more than i want to do though, the last pc i put together was a 486

i just know i wont be buying a massive chunk of aluminum/copper with a huge fan on it ever again.

the h50 is sooo quiet and takes up zero space compared to the arctic cooling heatsink/fan i had.

you are already spending $52 on a air cooler, spend a few dollars more and get a better piece of hardware.

GTX 260 for only $165 with free shipping, dunno how long the coupon will be good for but i tested it and it still works
its not the overclocked one but who cares

Thats a great deal; your right about the OC, software can overclock it; plus it can pretty much run anything you want.
On another note you can use the step up plan if you want something more 90 days down the road.

Note: prices are CAD and not your funny american money

I would buy this board for a little future proof. SATA 6Gb/s & USB 3.0
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131614
X58 is the way to go if you plan on going sli 2.0 PCI @ 16x while the i5 can only support 2 x PCI @ 8x; that is why the benchmarks are lower on the i5 in Sli.

I would also check around on ebay; most of them have free shipping & ship anywhere. It might save you a few bucks.

I agree with Balls-besides him being a good judge of motherboards, the USB 3.0 standard will come out this year so why not go ahead and get a board that already has that capability plus sli or crossfire at x16 for both.

HMM I agree, that mobo is now the main one

on second thought, i'll put that on the upgrade list

This one is less than 2/3 of the price... but it is questionable quality too:

Thing is, I'm not sure if paying more for SATAIII and USB 3.0 is worth it right now. I think it's not a "native" support anyway - it's "tacked on" as if you bought a pci/pcix controller. The native support of the X58 platform I think is still SATAII / USB 2.0...

I'm suprised the x58 haven't come down on price; some of them are close to 400 bones which is plain ridiculous. 6.0 in Raid 0...cannot wait

I'm not surprised the X58s haven't come down in price. I had an X48 and it was selling for the same price $300 after the X58s came out, which is ridiculous. I guess I got used to them not lowering prices on this series, which is sad, but I don't expect it to happen.

i like the gigabyte with it's 6 sata and 8 usb, it has 2 pcix16 ports and they are spread out to allow sli/crossfire so for the price i think it is the best board. and no x58 boards are not cheap.
